About Crystal Lake, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Found just an hour northwest of the Chicago Metro area, Crystal Lake is an ideal community found in McHenry County. As of 2010, this city had just over 40,000 residents, some of whom commute into Chicago via the Metra that provides service here. The largest city in the county, Crystal Lake is home to three high schools – Central, Crystal Lake, and Crystal Lake South – and many unique, separate neighborhoods. The city has many amenities to offer residents ranging from its award-winning library to state-of-the-art healthcare facilities.

Crystal Lake is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. The city manages the local Three Oaks Recreation Area, which offers hiking trails, a playground, fishing, and picnic areas. Likewise, the Crystal Lake Park District oversees more than 230 acres along Crystal Lake, including its two public beaches. The Raue Center for the Arts hosts many interesting events throughout the year, and North Wall Rock Climbing is a great destination for adrenaline junkies.

Crystal Lake is found in a humid continental climate zone. Winters here are cold and snowy. Average highs in January fail to reach the freezing point, and snowfall totals reach about three feet during a typical year. Frigid overnight temperatures are also common, so it is critical that homeowners have the right gas or electric furnace at home.

As temperatures warm up later in the year, the need for heating will decrease while there becomes more of a need for cooling. Summers in Crystal Lake are hot and humid, and with average daily highs of about 83 degrees in July, most residents want a central A/C system at home. To ensure that these systems run safely and efficiently, spring and early summer air conditioner maintenance is recommended. From changing air filters to scheduling annual air conditioner tune-ups, this preparation will increase energy efficiency and extend the life of an AC system.
